The Three Rivers Arts Festival gallery occupies the second floor of 937 Liberty Avenue, a beautiful, flexible space, facing Liberty Avenue, with high ceilings, natural light and wooden floors. Its dimensions are 36 feet by 62 feet, which totals 2,232 square feet of exhibit space.Annual Exhibition Each year during the Festival the Annual Exhibition showcases new works by approximately 50 emerging and established regional artists on all three floors of the Festival’s new home, 937 Liberty Avenue.
Works are presented in a formal gallery setting, and art media is displayed in a mixed format so that viewers see all pieces in the context of one another.TRAF accepts slide submissions for the Annual Exhibition in all media including: painting, drawing, sculpture, photography, and multi-media installation.Criteria to apply:Eligible artists must reside in Pittsburgh or in the 17 county region of Western Pennsylvania that includes: Erie, Crawford, Venango, Mercer, Lawrence, Butler, Beaver, Clarion, Armstrong, Allegheny, Westmoreland, Washington, Greene, Fayette, Indiana, Cambria, and Somerset.Applicants must submit (4) slides of recent work created over the past year (2003-4), that has not been shown locally.Include a slide list with descriptions and dimensions of artwork, as well as an artist statement and an artist resume.Please do not send original work.
In order to return slide materials, provide a self-addressed stamped envelope with the proper postage.All selected work must be ready to install with a concern for gallery presentation.Submissions are accepted through the end of March and applicants will be notified of acceptance by mid-April.
